I think we may be the only school in all the United States that had to go back to class on Thursday. It was below freezing outside and none of us wanted to get out of bed. I watched the news all at 5 AM hoping that they would call off school. Since there wasn't any ice on the ground I
thought about pouring water on the steps like the kid in Home Alone.
It turned out to be a great day. The kids just picked up where they left off. They even had to take a test today. See the nice blockers I made. Maybe I am as crafty as my sister and as artsy as my mom. Oh, wait. I forgot my mom made them a few years ago when she was visiting me. Even though my aide didn't come, the kids were so quiet and they all got all their work done. My class of 14 is going down to 12. They are getting such individual attention. My lowest reading group only has two kids in it. My top group has four. It will be so easy and cheap to buy them treats because most things come in a dozen. All the other years I had over 20 kids so I had to buy two packages of each thing. I almost could fit them all in my Excursion.
This is my class at their Christmas program. Look who is posing in the middle. I think she was either trying to be an angel or Hanana Montana.
Today we had a few 8th graders come in to play games, Sorry, High Ho Cherrio, Cootie, Chutes & Ladders, and Candyland with us. They take turns coming on Fridays when they aren't in computer. Taylor will come this 9 weeks. They practice flashcards with them, too. The big kid in this picture is one of Taylor's best friends, Kiley.
