We took Taylor and her friend, Brooke, to see Taylor Swift in New Orleans for Tayor's 14th birthday. While Taylor was picking out a new camera the other kids went swimming at the pool.
No one else was at the pool so they had a great time doing tricks. I think Trevor though he was doing ballet.
Can you guess what Tatum was doing? That's right. She can even act out High School Musical 2 while on a road trip relaxing by the pool. This is when she sang "Fabulous" and then fell in the pool.
We had high hopes for the special night even though it was freezing and dreary. By the time Russ dropped us off at the venue it was raining hard. They had put down a liner so it wasn't a mud pit. It more of a lake with dirty water. The good news is that most of that dirty water didn't stay on the liner long. Unfortunately, that was because it ended up in our shoes. The girls were determined to stay. We were there 15 minutes or so when they canceled the concert and the parade. Needless to say, the girls were extremely disappointed.
Even though it was Taylor's birthday celebration I didn't get any pictures of her except for the one above. We walked across the street and met Russ. He was the only one of us to stay dry. We ate dinner at P.F. Chang.
It was a new experience for the kids and me. They loved it. Taylor's favorite was Mongolian beef, Trent's was the Kung Pau shrimp, Trevor's was the lettuce wraps, and Tatum's was the honey chicken. Russ and I liked it all.
Even though we didn't get to see our first New Orleans Mardi Gras parade, were wet and cold most of the night, and are concert was canceled, we did have a nice weekend in a great hotel with fabulous food, fellowship, and fun.

That stinks the concert and parade were cancelled. At least you got to stay in a nice hotel and eat yummy food. :)
