Miracles Do Happen

My colleague and friend, Samantha, volunteered to take me shopping for back to school clothes.

When I told my family about Sam's offer, they were concerned for her. Russ asked me if I had warned her that I hate to shop and that I get very anxious while I am doing it. My mother felt I should worn her that she need not feel like a failure if I wasn't able to buy anything. I decided not to tell her my budget, because I didn't want her to be disappointed if I didn't spend it all. I was just hoping to get at least one outfit.

Sam's optimism and enthusiasm was contagious. In less than three hours we shopped at Old Navy, Express, and Victoria's Secret. I wasn't uncomfortable or nervous at all. It was actually very fun!
I bought things I didn't even know I needed along with a new base, powder, lip gloss, eye shadow, eye liner, and mascara.
I never dreamed I would come home with 4 pairs of shoes, a purse, a belt, 2 sets of earrings, three tanks, a sweater, a DRESS, 5 pairs of pants, and 10 shirts. I'm not sure I've ever bought that many clothes in a whole year.

Thanks, Samantha!
