Our Trip to Europe

After we checked in at the airport, we visited the Lufthansa lounge. 

We left Houston for Frankfurt on September 14, 2016.

We met Russell's cousin, Gerry and his wife, Laurie in Frankfurt.

 We rented a Volvo for the ten day trip.

The first village we visited was Rudesheim, Germany.  

We stayed at the Hotel Traube.

 We enjoyed Drosselgasse (a beautiful street with shops and cafes)

 

We ate at Breuer's Rüdesheimer Schloss.  It had great food and music.

Russell had grilled pork chop and potato salad with fresh chanterelles and green beans. 

Laurie had fried trout - fresh from the nearby river Wisper - melted butter, almonds and potatoes.

 Sherry had fried sausage from regional game, savoy cabbage and mashed potatoes.

Laurie mailed my postcards for me.
