Spontaneous Trip to Tennessee

I decided to go to Amy Grant's Weekend in Nashville on Wednesday.  Even though the tickets sales were closed, they made special arrangements to sell me a ticket.  I told my mom and Cindy that I was going to go and they both decided to take the impromptu trip with me.  My mom only had an hour before she left to drive to Houston from Austin. 

Cindy drove an hour to my house for our adventure.  We all needed caffeine for the 9 hour drive to Memphis.

I learned that Cindy is a very organized traveler.  

We stopped in Jefferson for lunch at Kitt's Cornbread Sandwich and Pie Bar.  It was yummy.

The three of us shared a plate of broccoli salad,  a cornbread sandwich with ham and cheese, and a cup of chicken and dumplings.

For dessert, we had white chocolate bread pudding.  

Once we made it to Memphis, we headed to Beale Street.  

I was the only one who had been here before.

My family loves eating at BB Kings.  It has great food and music.

We shared a rack of ribs, baked beans, cold slaw, macaroni  and homemade chips.  
For dessert we had a chocolate bread pudding.  

It was a fun night in Memphis.  
The next morning we left for Nashville.  

We stopped for brunch at the Loveless Cafe.  

I found pictures of Amy and Vince.  

We shared a breakfast platter of biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham.  We each had a fried chicken leg for dessert.

It was an almost two hour wait to get a table, so we ate picnic style outside.

Once we got to downtown Nashville, we took a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Mom loved all the Elvis stuff

Cindy loved it all.  She took as long looking at stuff as we did at the Denver Museum of Natural Science.  

I liked the Vince Gill, stuff.

Pierce Webb's car was ornate.  

Amy Grant's Nashville Weekend was amazing!

Saturday, we went to Franklin.  We ate at Puckett's.  It was really good.

After that, I headed to Amy and Vince's farm.

Their daughter, Corrina, has an amazing voice.  She sang two songs she wrote.

 

On our way out of Nashville, we ate at Swett's.  It was good home cooking.

We had to stop in Memphis and let mom see Graceland.  She only got to see the outside, since it was closed.  I can't imagine how excited she would be if she had gone inside it.

We had a great trip!
