My Circus Classroom Complete

I am very excited about teaching 1st grade this year at my new school. I inherited a classroom full of wonderful things. I love my new pets. When I feed the crab and he leaves his log and gets in his dish to eat. Since I started this blog, my crab died. Thank goodness I was at the beach and the teacher I replaced was caring for it. I got my new crab named Coco. He doesn't like to be seen. He hides under rocks and in the log. I've only seen him one time. I miss my old crab.

These are the before and after pictures of my classroom. My parents helped me get my classroom ready. My dad painted all the book cases. He cleaned the fish tank. My mother is very talented. She drew everything freehand. She made the curtains, too.

This wreath is on the second door of my classroom.

My rules are on the back of our door that is being replaced.

This seal is for behavior. The stars will have the students name written on them. If they misbehave they will have to move their star to the next balloon. It is like the green, yellow, and red lights.
At the end of each day during the first nine weeks I give them a sticker if they stay on green all day. When they get five stickers in a row they get to choose out of the treasure box.
This center train will let them know which group they are in for centers. I added their names on the animals.

The tickets are on Popsicle sticks. When I catch someone doing something good I will let them put a ticket in the pocket. When 5 tickets are in the pocket a prize can be gotten out of the treasure box.
My mom drew 8 different animals for the Wild About Writing area.

We made these clown hats to hand the kids' work from the ceiling. They look really cute around the room. I put some on the cabinets for decoration, too.

This is my Star Student Board.

What is it with us cousins and bunnies ! I think Grandpa made us all bunny lovers. Any way your room looks great and you did a wonderful job.

i was looking for circus ideas for my pre-k class and I got some great ideas from your blog page. I just wanted to say "thank you". I am trying to figure out a way to hang a "big top" from my ceiling. If you have any suggestions, i am open. Thanks,

P.S. i love the ticket to success idea. I am adapting that to be a whole class incentive.
